When Basic Mode is plenty
Honestly, for a lot of teaching, the included mode is all you need. Basic Mode is a good fit when:
- Your lesson is mostly everyday language: discussion, directions, read-alouds.
- Your subject's tricky terms are covered by a pinned vocabulary list.
- You teach in a quiet room with a decent microphone.
Reach for AI Mode when precision matters: dense technical vocabulary, fast dictation-style content, proper nouns and names, or any lesson where a misheard term would genuinely mislead students. Many teachers run AI Mode one or two periods a day and Basic Mode everywhere else.
